SEMI PRECIOUS.
Throughout 2008 local history project Semi Precious will provide learning opportunities about Weardale’s industrial heritage and migration to and from the dale.
Activities will include family events, walks, training and exhibitions hosted by Harehope Quarry, Weardale Community Partnership, Killhope and Weardale Museum.

AUGUST 2008

VOLUNTEER DAY.
Saturday 2 August 2008, 10.00am – 4.00pm.
Join our regular volunteering event. Tasks will include the
continued decorating of the eco-classroom and nature reserve
management. Refreshments and a light lunch are provided so if
you intend to come please let us know so we have an idea of
numbers.


AN INTRODUCTION TO YOGA.
Saturday 9 August 2008, 10.30am – 2.30pm.
Come along and enjoy this introductory session to yoga in the
eco-classroom at Harehope Quarry. A simple local food lunch
will be provided and the opportunity to explore the quarry
afterwards.
£10 per person – includes refreshments and lunch.

ROCK DETECTIVES CLUB – ‘Celebration Time’.
@ Harehope Quarry, Frosterley.
Saturday 20 September 2008 – 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Come and celebrate 3 years of Rock Detectives with a day of
games, activities and fun.

TOOL SHARPENING COURSE
Saturday 18th October

An essential learning experience for all woodworkers. The course is run by Maurice Pyle (see 'Links' to MPWoodsmith).

HALLOWEEN FUN!
Friday 31 October 2008, 5.00pm – 8.00pm.
Come and help us celebrate the end of summer and the onset of
the long dark nights of winter. A mixture of Halloween, Celtic New
Year and a bonfire thrown in!
Adults £4, Children £2, Families £7.


RECYCLING CHRISTMAS!
Sunday 23 November 2008, 11.00am – 1.00pm
Recycle your toys for Christmas and buy some fair trade
presents and cards etc at the same time.
Table £4 or entrance £2 (if just buying). Includes a festive cup
of cheer.


GREEN CHRISTMAS CRAFTS.
Saturday 2 December 2006, 1.30pm – 3.30pm, Drop-in
session.
A family event that involves making green Christmas presents
and decorations for friends and family, as well as the wildlife
inhabitants of the garden.
Adults £4, Children £2, Families £7.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
We can also offer courses on spinning, natural dyes,
felting, willow weaving, charcoal burning, green
woodworking, video making and creative writing. If you
are interested in any of these courses contact us and we
will advertise to attract other course participants.

If you are interested in the ROCK DETECTIVES CLUB please contact us for further information. All events must be pre-booked unless stated that it is a drop-in event. A decision about the viability of any course will be made 2 weeks in advance on the basis of bookings.
